Friendship is one of the best things in life. They transcend age, place, and apparently, even species. There is no box that can fit into the definition of friendship. These animals have formed an unlikely friendship with somebody you wouldn’t expect. Whether it’s a dog or a cat, a monkey and a deer, these animals are proof that there are no rules in friendship.

Bubbles and Bella

It's true that friendship comes in all shapes and sizes. That fact is extremely relevant in the case of the friendship of Bubbles the elephant and Bella the black Labrador.

The duo met when Bubbles was brought to a Safari reserve after being rescued from people who wished to harm her. Bella, who was already a resident there, soon became close to her giant elephant friend. The two go swimming together very often.

Bea and Wilma

Yes, it might sound like the name of a sitcom about two old women, but in reality, it's something entirely different. Bea the giraffe, and Wilma the ostrich form quite the unlikely pair. To say their friendship is unusual is an understatement.

Both animals met and became friends while living at Busch Gardens in the US. Despite a 65-acre enclosure where they can roam around separately, the two often spend their time together, mostly by the poolside.

Tinni and Sniffer

Tinni the dog met her pal Sniffer, a wolf fox, in the forests of Norway, close to where she lives. Soon, the two became inseparable and often took walks together in the beautiful green forest.

Tinni, a domesticated pet, belongs to Togeir Berge. It's him we have to thank for all the lovely photos of this unusual duo on their daily walks. According to Berge, it's not easy to keep up with the playful pair, but he does the best that he can.

Torque and Shrek

Just the look of this pair is enough to instill the faith in anybody that animals are better at emotions than humans. Shrek, an owl, was very young when he was separated from his mother.

The reason for this was that the handlers were scared that Shrek's mother might cause him harm when stressed. Luckily for Shrek, the six-month-old greyhound dog, Torque took a shine to him, and now the two are great friends.
